Thankfully, the IBM fuckups have been resolved. My credit card has been credited in the amount of $88.12. I know that I won't be buying a laptop anytime soon, but I should start looking for a different company to buy from because this has really left a sour taste in my mouth. No word from VISA yet on the security of my credit card number or on IBM's internal proccesses to prevent identity theft.
